Monday night was our exciting first event and launch of The Kiln, held at The Firefly in Worcester. There was a fantastic turnout – thank you so much to everyone who came! It was really exciting to see so many faces we already know from within the creative and tech communities locally, and even more exciting to meet those looking to move into our shared industries.
We managed to introduce people on the evening and have already heard about some exciting collaborations between people who joined us – what a great thing to achieve so soon!
We were also really happy to see representatives from the County Council, the City Council and one of the major political parties coming along and showing a great deal of interest in what we are trying to achieve.
On the night, we heard from Sarah Drinkwater who enthusiastically spoke to us about life heading up Campus London, Google’s East London-based co-working space. Matt Lane shared his BeerBods business startup story, going from a garden shed to an old pig farm to becoming the UK’s leading online beer subscription service along the way. Our final speaker, Jorge Eguiguren, the Design Director and Co founder of KKE Architects based in the Diglis Basin, passionately described his interest in sustainable and environmentally sound architectural design.
The videos from the event will be on the site in the next week or so, you can find the photos below – see if you can spot anyone you know!.
If you couldn’t make it on Monday, why not join us for our next event on the 25th of April? We will announce the details soon, in the meantime Subscribe here and we’ll keep you up to date with everything we are up to!
