What is your name and what is your role?
I’m Janet Yates and an Economic Development Officer at Worcester City Council.
I was part of the team which helped bring the dream of the Kiln to reality. I now provide support to the Kiln and am there most Tuesday afternoons for anyone who wants to have a chat about help for their business.
How would people describe you best?
Determined, enjoy a challenge and don’t give up easily.
What is your favourite thing about working at The Kiln?
The atmosphere – there is a friendly welcome as soon as you walk through the door.
Do you have any tips for your 18 year old self?
Make the most of life as you never know what’s round the corner.

Friendly, great atmosphere, good wi-fi, supportive fun place to work
Where is your favourite place to grab mid-work lunch?
Clockwatchers in Mealcheapen Street – quick service and good food.
What is your go-to drink whilst you’re at work?
Coffee and water. Although I do enjoy a cappuccino when I’m working in the Kiln.
What would you say to anyone who is unsure whether The Kiln is for them?
Give it a go – you need to come through the front door to find out what the Kiln is about!
